Few things I found in IMRaD paper are different from the paper I used to write. One major difference I think is the page limits. Argumentive paper requires at least five pages to expand author's ideas and citing sources from other paper or books to prove those ideas. IMRaD can explain all the important context within a single page.
The focus between two types of paper is also different. The argumentive paper focuses on establishing an argument, and prove the author's own idea. But IMRaD is more like a report for the real experiment. The author needs to do the experiment first, then using every information from the experiment to support IMRaD paper.
Structures in two paper are also very different. IMRaD follows a strict form requirement, basically, what needs to be mentioned in the paper are all include in subtitles. The whole paper is like the record of the experiment, more flow but less local bounds than argumentive paper.
After reading the paper once, the overall formatting I noticed was flowing really well. The the graphs were pretty easy to read. When I read the paper a second time, I noticed that the language use was sometimes worded odd. I wrote down different ways to improve the sentences like by switching some words around to make the sentence flow better. The paper I also noticed had the references but not an appendix. The last paragraph of the introduction was really good. It described why this research is important. The headings for the method were really good and well written. it was very clear to read. The organization of the IMRaD was very good, just the appendix is missing which is easy to add in. There are different types of tables that are used which I think is good because of the different information presented, so the different usage of pie charts and bar graphs fit well with the information. The quality of the survey was really good. There were a lot of participants which makes the survey even more precise. This paper was really good and well thought out, besides. few grammatical errors and inclusion on an appendix at the end, this was a really good paper!
